HHope- Hannah’s Hope

The most precious teen mom and friend.

When I was 14 years old a dream to start an organization for teen mothers was birthed in my heart. I dreamt about having a home for teen mothers and helping them to get on their feet. This dream consumed my thoughts. I was writing and drawing out plans all the time. I never thought I would be able to see the dream slowly begin to take life nearly 10 years later. HHope is named after Hannah a mother who was barren and desperately wanted a son, she cried out to God and he opened her womb. Hannah believed that she could bear a child and she did. I want to inspire mothers to embody that same tenacity and cling to the hope that they can successfully parent their child and accomplish their goals.

After working within the foster care system for a year and a half, my desire to help teen mothers increased. By age 19, 48% of teen girls in foster care have been pregnant compared to 27% of their female peers in the general population. Teen mothers in foster care often have no support system or family members to lean on. HHope is an organization dedicated to awakening the dreamer, providing support, and encouraging young mothers to reach their potential.

I believe dreamers and innovators will change the world. We can change a generation one dream, idea, and person at a time. I desire to engage community organizations and individuals to empower and educate young mothers.

HHope Mission: We believe through mentorship, education, and counseling teen mothers and young women can be equipped to parent and offer their children stability by attaining financial independence and professional success.

HHope Vision: We will equip young mothers with the tools needed to make their dreams a reality.

Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.
